Group Therapy for
Parents Experiencing Estrangement from a Child

Sometimes, the most comforting experience in the universe is to know that someone else understands your struggle.

Parent-child estrangement is a growing experience in our culture with studies showing that up to 25% of parents experience a period of estrangement from a child.

Group therapy can be an incredibly beneficial experience for someone looking to grow, heal, and increase their self-connection (emotionally, mentally, physically, etc.). Because relationships among group members are discouraged outside of the group, the group itself maintains a level of safety and becomes a place where members can "try on" new ways of interacting with themselves, their experiences, other members, and the group leader.

In my experience, group therapy can be as effective, and sometimes more effective, than individual therapy. Doing group therapy in tandem with individual therapy is always encouraged, as the two experiences can lead to accelerated growth, healing, and change.
